Eight days that open with the 2 August 2027 total eclipse near Luxor Temple, continue on a Nile cruise and end in Cairo at the Grand Egyptian Museum.
Our representative meets you at Cairo International Airport, walks you through the arrival formalities and drives you to your hotel in a private air-conditioned vehicle. The evening is free.
An early breakfast and the flight to Luxor, then to the viewing area at Luxor Temple — one of the finest places on Earth to stand for the total solar eclipse of 2 August 2027. Daylight drains away over temples built three millennia ago, holds for a few minutes, and comes back. You board your Nile cruise afterwards.
Breakfast on board, then the Valley of the Kings, where pharaohs were buried in decorated tombs cut deep into the mountains, the Temple of Hatshepsut set against its limestone cliffs, and the Colossi of Memnon.
Breakfast is served while sailing to Edfu, where the Temple of Horus is the finest surviving Ptolemaic building in the country. You continue to Kom Ombo later in the day for its double temple, shared between Sobek the crocodile god and Horus the falcon god.
The Aswan sites: the High Dam that reshaped the modern country, and the Temple of Philae on Agilkia Island, rebuilt there piece by piece once the water rose behind it.
Breakfast, disembarkation and a transfer to Aswan Airport for the flight north, where you are met and taken to your Cairo hotel.
The last full day is the one most trips open with. The Giza Plateau — Khufu, Khafre, Menkaure and the Great Sphinx — then the Grand Egyptian Museum, which after a week of temples gives you the objects that came out of them.
Breakfast, check out, and a transfer to Cairo International Airport for your flight home.
