ITINERARY

  • 1 Arrival in Cairo

    A representative meets you at Cairo International Airport, handles the formalities and transfers you to your hotel in a private air-conditioned vehicle. After check-in the rest of the day is yours.

  • 2 The Great Pyramids and the Egyptian Museum

    A privately guided morning at the Great Pyramids of Giza — Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinos — with the Sphinx and the Valley Temple below them. A traditional Egyptian lunch at a local restaurant, then the Egyptian Museum of Cairo in the afternoon, and the antiquities that have been arriving there for over a century.

  • 3 Fly to Aswan and board the cruise

    A short flight south after breakfast. Philae Temple first, built for Isis on its island, then the Aswan High Dam. You board the boat afterwards, have lunch on deck, and it starts north up the river in the afternoon.

  • 4 Kom Ombo and Edfu

    Breakfast on board as the boat sails to Kom Ombo, a twin sanctuary built for Sobek and Horus the Elder with a mirrored half for each. On to Edfu, where a horse-drawn carriage takes you from the mooring to the Temple of Horus, one of the best-preserved in Egypt. Dinner back on board.

  • 5 Luxor's West Bank

    You leave the boat at Luxor for the West Bank. The Valley of the Kings first, the burial place of pharaohs including Tutankhamun, then the Temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. Afterwards you check out of the cruise and transfer to a hotel in Luxor.

  • 6 Luxor's East Bank, then Cairo

    The Karnak Temple Complex after breakfast, with its colossal columns and sacred halls, then Luxor Temple in the middle of town. A transfer to Luxor Airport in the afternoon and a flight to Cairo, where you check in for a free evening.

  • 7 A free day in Cairo

    Nothing scheduled. Khan El Khalili Bazaar is the obvious use of it, and the easiest place in the city to find something worth taking home. Optional tours can be arranged on request.
