Four days and three nights on a deluxe boat from Aswan to Luxor, visiting Philae, the High Dam, Kom Ombo, Edfu and both banks of Luxor, with full board.
You are met at Aswan Airport or the railway station and driven to the boat privately. Before boarding there are two stops: the Aswan High Dam, which transformed how the country farms and manages its water, and the Temple of Philae on Agilika Island, built for Isis and moved there to keep it clear of the flooding the dam created. Its columns and reliefs are among the finest in Egypt. Then check-in, a welcome lunch, and dinner as the sun goes down over the water.
Breakfast as the boat leaves Aswan. Kom Ombo comes first — a rare double temple for Sobek and Horus, laid out in two identical halves so neither god takes precedence, with wall carvings showing scenes from ancient Egyptian life and worship. Lunch on board with the green banks going past, then the Temple of Horus at Edfu in the afternoon, built for the falcon god and among the most complete ancient buildings in the country. Dinner back on board.
The West Bank after breakfast. In the Valley of the Kings you walk down into tombs cut deep into the mountain, their walls painted with the afterlife, the gods and the power of the kings who commissioned them. The Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir El-Bahari follows, built in terraces against the cliff, and then the Colossi of Memnon — worn smooth by three thousand years of weather and still enormous. Lunch on board, then a free afternoon.
Breakfast on board, then you disembark for the East Bank with your guide. Karnak first, the vast complex built for Amun, Mut and Khonsu that was the religious centre of ancient Thebes. Then Luxor Temple, connected to it by the Avenue of Sphinxes and still standing among the modern streets. A private air-conditioned transfer to Luxor Airport or the train station afterwards.
