The Sonesta Moon Goddess has 49 cabins with private balconies and sails five days from Luxor to Aswan, visiting Karnak, Edfu, Kom Ombo and Philae.
You board at Luxor before lunch and settle in. The afternoon covers two of the great temples: the Karnak Temple Complex, with its colossal columns and sacred lake, and Luxor Temple, which is at its best in the last of the afternoon light. Dinner and entertainment back on board.
A guided morning on the West Bank: the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. Lunch on board as the ship goes through the Esna Lock and on towards Edfu, and the afternoon is the sun deck and the landscape of Upper Egypt going past. The Captain's welcome cocktail is in the evening.
The Temple of Horus at Edfu after breakfast, generally reckoned the best-preserved temple in Egypt. Back on board for lunch while sailing to Kom Ombo, then the double temple built for Sobek and Haroeris, with the Crocodile Mummification Museum next to it. A Galabeya party and dinner on board afterwards.
The boat arrives early. After breakfast, the High Dam, then the Temple of Philae on Agilkia Island, and the Unfinished Obelisk in the granite quarries. Lunch back on board and a free afternoon, with the option of a felucca on the river or a visit to a Nubian village. Dinner and a Nubian show in the evening.
