The all-suite Sonesta St. George sails from Luxor to Aswan, with a spa, evening entertainment and visits to Karnak, the Valley of the Kings, Edfu, Kom Ombo and Philae.
You board before lunch and settle into your suite. The afternoon covers the East Bank: Karnak first, with its pylons, statuary and centuries of accumulated building, then Luxor Temple. Afternoon tea back on board, dinner, and a belly dance performance in the evening.
Across the river after breakfast for the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. Lunch is served as the ship casts off for Esna, and the afternoon is tea on deck. The Captain's cocktail reception is in the evening.
An early sail to Edfu and the great Temple of Horus, then back on board for lunch while the ship moves on to Kom Ombo. The temple there is built for two gods at once — Sobek and Horus the Elder — with a matching half for each. Dinner, and a Galabeya party to follow.
An early sail into Aswan and breakfast on arrival. The tour takes in the High Dam and then the Temple of Philae, and there is a motorboat out to the Botanical Gardens on Kitchener's Island, which is the one green, quiet hour in a week of stone. Lunch on board, tea on the sundeck, and a Nubian folklore show after dinner.
A last breakfast on board before you disembark.
Optional: A tour to the Abu Simbel Temples, for anyone with time to spare in Aswan
