ITINERARY

  • 1 Arrival in Cairo

    A representative meets you at Cairo International Airport and stays with you through immigration and baggage, then you are driven to your hotel to check in. The rest of the day is free to rest before the trip proper begins.

  • 2 Giza and the Grand Egyptian Museum

    The morning is spent on the Giza Plateau with the pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinos, the Great Sphinx and the Valley Temple beside it, including a camel ride near the pyramids. The afternoon is given to the Grand Egyptian Museum, where your guide walks you through thousands of years of history in a building designed for the purpose.

  • 3 Fly to Aswan, Philae and the High Dam, board the cruise

    A morning transfer to Cairo Airport and a flight to Aswan. On arrival you visit the High Dam, then take a boat across to the Temple of Philae, the island sanctuary of Isis. Afterwards you board your cruise, have lunch and settle into your cabin, with the rest of the afternoon at leisure on deck.

  • 4 Kom Ombo and Edfu

    The boat sails early for Kom Ombo and its unusual twin temple, built in mirror image for Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus the falcon god. You sail on to Edfu, where a horse-drawn carriage takes you up to the Temple of Horus, one of the best-preserved temples in the country. Dinner is served as the boat continues towards Luxor.

  • 5 Luxor West Bank

    After breakfast on board you cross to the West Bank for the Valley of the Kings, where pharaohs including Tutankhamun were buried in decorated tombs, then the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, built for Egypt's most powerful female ruler, and a photo stop at the Colossi of Memnon. Back to the boat for lunch and a final evening on the river.

  • 6 Luxor East Bank, then fly to Cairo

    You disembark after breakfast and spend the morning on the East Bank: the Karnak complex with its Hypostyle Hall and sacred lake, and then Luxor Temple, begun by Amenhotep III and finished by Ramses II. Afterwards you transfer to Luxor Airport for the flight to Cairo and check in for your final night.
